CADTH (Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health) is an independent, not-for-profit agency that provides evidence of health technologies and it is funded by Canada¡¯ s federal, provincial, and territorial governments. Dr. Brian O¡¯Rourke, the chair of CADTH, was invited to NECA¡¯s Annual Conference to deliver a key note speech on health technology assessment, the CADTH way. According to Dr. O¡¯Rourke, CADTH is a health technology assessment agency providing a service to the policy makers or clinicians in decision making. He introduced CADTH model, principles for success, products and services, and lessons learned from CADTH. To clarify a significant uncertainty of health technologies, he showed a model that has three steps. Through three steps including planning an d prioritization step, production and brokering step, and knowledge mobilization step, CADTH health technology assessment gets an impact on reality. During the key note speech, he emphasized on CADTH principles to success; relevance, timeliness, quality, impact.
